About:

Josie makes objects which tell stories. Meandering between the abstract and the illustrational she often settles somewhere in between. Driven by curiosity and intuition, this process results in solid, stocky forms populated with bold, colourful creatures of her imagination which frolic over the surface. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, Josie works in layers to incorporate hidden details. Illustration over a 3D object allows her drawings to spill over the edges and spread seamlessly, enveloping the form, the continuous surface allowing for movement and unbroken rhythm.
